    Lesson well learned
This last fall I though studding out my buck goat would help him pay for him self ….well this is a lesson well learned … I have prided my self on how nice my goats coats are and how well they look even during milking so my animals are kept very clean…this spring my buck and many of my does broke out with body lice …racking my brain on were they came from I came to one result….when I studded out my buck this fall the females he bred were infected …sure enough I found out this was true so was it worth it to me? NO it cost me three stud fees to clean up …not only that my females were affected in there milk flow because of the infestation. So when you stud out your goats or take a female to a buck goat that is not yours I would at least have a flea comb in hand before breeding insist on inspecting females or males…

    Hello Molly,

I am a Rotarian living in Grass Valley, CA. Our local club, along with four other area clubs, has been approved for a Rotary International grant. This is a pretty big deal as only about 10% of these types of grants are approved. Why am I telling you this? The grant involved supplied herds of goats to Ugandans for milk and eventually meat products. We are currently in the process of creating a educational video, about an hour in length, that will be used to train the Ugandans in the care of there goats. We would like to include some of the photos you have posted on your website at Fias Co Farm. What do you require for us to do that? We would like to get some kind of agreement to proceed with our video work.

    Thanks for your time,

    Steve

    Hi Molly,
My husband and I got two LaBoar goats in the Spring of 2008 still on the bottle and we are plan to breed them this Fall, one with a pure LaMancha for a better milk line and the other with a pure Boar for a better meat line. Would you have anything left for sale? We live in Southwest Michigan also. I saw that you recently move here. We are located in Bangor, Michigan..near South Haven and Lake Michigan. Are you far from us?
